Earlier this month western media quickly reported that the 19 year old name conflict between Macedonia (FYROM) and Greece could be solved shortly. This followed after Greece had accepted that the new name could be "Northern Macedonia". However, not all media reported the full extent of the Greek statement. It added that the name 'Northern Macedonia' should be used in Skopje's "relations with everyone," thus rejecting the notion that the name 'Republic of Macedonia' for internal use could be kept.
