Ljubljana, 12 May (STA) - Slovenia will join the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) at a ministerial meeting in Paris on 27 May, but the accession treaty will be signed in Ljubljana on 1 June, the Government Communications Office said. The treaty will have to be ratified by the Slovenian parliament and the procedure will wrap up with a special OECD resolution.
The ratification procedure has already started, as the parliament's Foreign Affairs Committee rubber-stamped the ratification law on Wednesday.
Along with Israel and Estonia, Slovenia was formally invited to join the OECD on 10 May.
