The Serbian Investment and Export Promotion Agency (SIEPA) yesterday invited applications for grants of between EUR 2,000 and EUR 10,000 per newly employed worker in internationally tradable products and services sectors, local media reported. This is the 11th round of job creation grants that SIEPA is disbursing in efforts to boost direct investments in Serbia. Per-job grants for the manufacturing industry range from EUR 4,000 to EUR 10,000 in devastated areas and major industrial centers that the government seeks to revitalize, namely Zajecar, Kraljevo, Nis and Novi Pazar, and from EUR 2,000 to EUR 5,000 in the rest of Serbia. The ten previous rounds provided slightly over EUR 47 million in grants that helped create more than 17,000 jobs and resulted in direct investments of over EUR 635 million.
