As we have reported earlier, the Swedish Challenge was launched by SIDA and the Swedish embassy in Sarajevo with invitation to enterprises to compete for financial support for business ideas being implemented in BiH.
The project was launched during a very limited time frame. The first call for proposals started at the end of summer 2013 and was concluded on 30/11-2013. The call for proposals exceeded all expectations in terms of number of applications as well as with regards to quality. About 600 applications were successfully submitted in less than two months. The winners will be announced early next year.
The responsibility to set
up the IT infrastructure to handle the web based part of the project was given to SEEBA, a member of the Chamber of Commerce Sweden-Southeast Europe. Åsa Trulsson, responsible program officer at SIDA, says: ”Cooperating
with SEEBA has been a positive experience and
the IT-system fulfilled our expectations and has functioned exemplary”.
